This is a non-standard wiring setup. This setup has routed analog component video through an HDMI socket. HDMI devices normally accept HDMI with digital signals coming in; this cable is not compatible with those (about 99% of the devices). WHERE IT WILL WORK: With devices specifically made to accept an analog signal routed through an HDMI port. These devices are extremely rare, and if you have one, your user's manual will clearly state as much. Unfortunately, because there are a few such devices on the market, there are now "HDMI to Component" cables being marketed in various outlets, and the sellers of these products often do not appear to realize that they will work with only a very small, limited class of devices. Don't buy one just to try out; unless your manual says it will work, it WILL NOT.

I knew that digital signals cant normally be converted to analog signals, but figured i'd give it a try....wrong. Waste of money this item should be taken off amazon, it is a scam.

This will not work to connect an HDMI output to an older TV or projector. It does no digital to analog conversion. It is just an HDMI cable that one end has RCA connectors instead of the HDMI connector. Do not buy!

I know the purpose of this product is probably for watching movies with the PSP, but I really wanted to play PSP games on my TV. Problem is, when connected to the PSP, the cable points out and to the right which interferes with my ability to comfortably grip the PSP. Still not a bad product, works great.



Oh, and for those that say you can't make the PSP game full screen... that's not the cable, its the PSP. And it, at least my unhacked 3000, will make movies and games full screen. Check out your video settings.

purchased this cable hoping for a good quality cable, but i was wrong. yes its cheap and it worked ok, but you can tell just by the cheaply made "box" it comes in that its not the best. i purchases the Sony brand component cable and it was much better and is 24k gold plated, unlike this one. this ones good if you are low on funds, but if you can, get the Sony brand one.

Picture quality definitely improved; text, in particular, is much sharper and easier to read.



However, a few things bothered me. For one, the plug didn't fit as well in my PS2 slim as the standard AV connector. I haven't experienced any ill effects yet, but it's definitely not as snug as I'd like it to be. The other annoyance I had was that this is listed as having 24k plug-ins, which it doesn't. If I didn't know any better I'd say it's the exact same cable as PLAYSTATION 2&3 PS2 PS3 AV COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE HDTV but more expensive.

The cable fits loose in my PS2 and sometimes red doesn't appear in my picture. So I need to occasionally reach around my PS2 in order to jiggle that sucka because of the loose connection. This can be annoying because of the way my PS2 is situated in my entertainment center.



When I'm not jiggling though, the picture seems pretty crisp. I enjoyed playing Suikoden Tactics in 420p mode so the cable was worth the price and jiggling.



Perhaps I got a defective cable or perhaps I'm doomed to jiggle. Either way, the cable is dirt cheap so I can't complain too much I guess. Perhaps Playstation 3 Component + Composite Audio Video Cable Now With Extra Jiggling would be a more accurate description for the item however...

I have a 32" flat screen Sony tube TV with component input (also has composite/s-video). I was previously using a composite connection to my PS2, which worked just fine. I saw this selling here cheap and decided to give it a shot. While it could well be my imagination or the placebo effect, it does seem like the picture is considerably sharper and vivid with component rather than composite even on my tube TV.



The device connector on my previous (stock) composite cable slips into the PS2's AV port much more smoothly than this one does, but given the price, I'm not complaining. I don't move the PS2 around much anyway.

I have an older Hitachi rear projection HDTV that can handle up to 1080i. I bought this cable for my ps3 to play it in HD (what's the point in having the capability if you do not take advantage of it?) When I hooked it up and configured the ps3 to use the 1080i and even the 720p resolutions, the picture was blurry and very disappointing. When I set it to use the lower 480p resolution, however, it worked great and the picture was a lot clearer than the 480i that I was playing in before.



Although I know it is a function of my TV and not the cable that the 1080i and 720p were so disappointing, I could not give it 5 stars. Besides, 480p is certainly better than 480i.

... the seller sent the wrong cable. This listing says it's "Component + Composite", but all I got was the composite. It's too cheap to bother working through a refund, so now I have to buy another cable elsewhere. That'll teach me to stick with more reliable brands and merchants. Just a warning so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
